Hi,
I need to create a file with LRECL = 40000. But sine the maximim is 32760
im hitting an error. How can i achieve this. Do we have any other way to do this? |

Tape or disk (it matters)? Which release of z/OS (which also matters)? |

It's OS 390. And even if its a tape or disc length can't exceed 32760 right? |

On OS/390, yes the record length cannot exceed 32760, although there may be an exception for ASCII tapes (I don't have access to the OS/390 manuals any more to verify that the exception goes back that far). |

I suggest this is more a "want" than a "need". . . What if the length increased to 90,000 or 250,000. . .
Write multiple records and then work with these "pieces" of the whole. |
