Hi,
Can someone tell me how to connect and use DB2 data stored on mainframe from AIX system using C lanaguage.
My application is written in C and uses other database management system. Its running on IBM aix. Now, we have to migrate our database on DB2 running on Mainframe.
I think, I have to use db2 connect. But anyone knows how to use db2 connect , what APIs are available for C ? |

Hello,
Suggest you talk with the mainframe dba(s). They may have already established the way to do this on your system.
Even if it has not already been set up, they will have to be involved. |

Yeah. You are right.
Can MTK from IBM be useful? |

Well, I had some review of MTK.
I am planning to use MTK to convert the source ( ORACLE) database objects into target ( DB2) counterparts.
However, I understand that application will have to be manually converted.
MTK seems to be origionally planned for DB2 running on LUW. But seems like they have extended suppport for DB2 on Z / OS ( mainframe) as well. |
