Hi all,

When I open any member in a PDS,all the lines in that member are getting cut automatically and 'X lines cut to default' appears on top side.
I don't want to cut any lines. This was working fine sometime ago but I messed up some setting because of which default cut is occurring.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

On the entry panel, where you type the PDS name, what is in the 'initial macro' field? If there is something there, try blanking it out.

I type the PDS name in 3.4. Where exactly you want me to refer to initial macro field?

Pedro,

aren't you glad that you provided a clue to an questioner that has no idea what the clue meant?

most people are too lazy to use the ispf 2 option
(not realizing that the drop downs provide a list of datasets)
and instead use 3.4, often type D instead of E and of course have turned off verification.

Check PROFILE for your dataset. It will show initial macro name(IMACRO) if it is active

Code:

....JCL (FIXED - 80)....RECOVERY OFF WARN....NUMBER DISPLAY STD.........
....CAPS ON....HEX OFF....NULLS ON STD....TABS OFF......................
....AUTOSAVE ON....AUTONUM OFF....AUTOLIST OFF....STATS ON..............
....PROFILE UNLOCK....IMACRO NONE....PACK OFF....NOTE ON................
....HILITE JCL CURSOR FIND..............................................

When you enter a PDS and select a member, use a / in the promt field of the panel and see what happens then. See below.
Code:

 Command ===>
            Name     Prompt       Size
 s________ $JOBLIB  /

You probably have 'cut' in the prompt field, like this:
Code:
 Command ===>
            Name     Prompt       Size
 s________ $JOBLIB   cut

Thank you very much. I see CUT in initial macro after putting / in the prompt field. I cleared it and it worked fine. Not sure why the PROFILE showed Initial macro as none although I could see CUT.

The 'prompt' field is not the same as the 'initial macro' field. If you use a row action of 'S' and prompt value of '/', you will see the initial macro field.
