Hi,
In my job in first step I am deleting the dataset created by a sort step.2nd step I am sorting the input file and creating the file which was already deleted. Here I have given Disp parameter as (New,catlg, delete). And in the third step I am using this file as an input to a pgm.
When I first run this job it ran sucessfully. From 2nd run onwards it is giving JCL error saying dataset can not be cataloged. But I couldsee in first step the dataset is deleted sucessfully.
Can anyone give me an idea what could be the reason for this error?
Thanks,
Indus |

Can you try using disposition (MOD,DELETE) in the first step? |

Please wait until the OP finally bothers to post the requested information so that we can see what the problem is before offering suggestions.
Who knows what the problem might be, and until the info is posted, we certainly will not. |

indus--I agree with Steve & Expat, however i dare to offer a suggestion. Unless you're using something like UCC11(RMS) what you said won't work. May be you can include the delete step as the last step of JCL, but yes that depends on what you said in first post and you mean that. |
