Greetings.

I'm trying to access QWS3270 from my home PC.

I've downloaded the QWS3270 Secure trial version.

I wanted to know the hostname / IP Address and Port no. to connect to IBM machine as I donot have any info.

I'm trying to use this for trying out some programs for learning purpose.

Is there any of these info samples provided by IBM??

Please assist.

Thanks in advance.

This would be the existing mainframe you already have access to, right? If you do not have access to a mainframe, installing a 3270 emulator product will not give you access to one.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

And even if you have local access to a mainframe, you may need to request a remote connection from the network and/or security people.

All of the systems i support today require more than only the 3270 emulator to connect from a remote.

I thought that QWS3270 would do. Anyways, I appreciate the prompt responses in this forum.

Hello,

Yes - look at Hercules. It will "run a mainframe" on a pc.
www.hercules-390.org/

You can also download db2 that will run on a pc.
