Is there any way to retain the original PDS Member statistics when you invoke an EDIT Macro to modify various members in the PDS. I have not found anything in the Manuals other than the Version and Level numbers.

Personally, i'd hope not. . . What good are the statistics if they are not consistent? How does it help me if i have a member that has a date of last week, but it was updated earlier today?

A couple of similar topics currently active. . .

I agree, but I need to make account number changes to our production JCL and we need to keep the original Stats as this show us who made the last changes, and when the account codes are modified it now will show the ID on every job of the RACF that changed the account codes not the user that last changed the production jcl.

On the systems i support these days, "people" do not edit production libraries. When something is ready to "go live", the Production library update is done by Cofiguration Management or Change Control.

Personally, i prefer having the changes staged thru an archived Librarian master so that "who" and "when" are recorded - for more than only the current update.

If you update in place like this post ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=44535 it will retain the stats.
