I wonder What would be the best method to list entire cataloged datasets present in the system.

What I derived myself is to create a DSLIST (Pesonal Data Set list) with DSLIST level entries as 'A*.**', 'B*.**' ....... 'Z*.**'. And then list it with ISPF command DSLIST ALLDS (where ALLDS is my DSLIST name).

If anyone has a better solution, please post it here. Help would be appreciated.

And when you've got the list of (tens/hundreds of) thousands datasets, what do you actually plan to do with them? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

And the list will be obsolete as soon as it is created. . . .

dick, at our site it would be obsolete before it is created -- we cannot even complete an ADRDSSU back up without something getting moved to another pack while the back up is underway!

Yup. . .

Possibly the situation has a "thud power" requirement. . . . Thud power being the impressiveness of the sound of the "thud" generated when the full printout is dropped from a height of 2.5' onto a table or desk top. . .

Put the printout on a desk, so a hurricance can't blow the desk away. icon_lol.gif
