Hi
I am a Mainframe programmer with good working knowledge using COBOL and DB2. I have worked very basic in IMS-DB.
I am preparing myself for an interview which would test me as a COBOL/IMSDB programmer.
Can you please help me in understanding the following,
1. Though IMS and DB2 are different basically (Hierarchial and Relational) how practical is it for me to understand the basics strongly to take up a general skills test.
2. Can you please suggest some documentation for me to give a quick read. The IBM documentation is huge, would like you to share if you have anything more quick to read through to gain a basic understanding.
Sorry if I have asked a questions that was previously asked. I searched the forum, but was not able to get anything concrete.
Any help would help me a lot and many thanks in advance.
Regards. |

Go through the stickies in IMS part of the Forum, there are links which give a fair idea of what you are looking for. |
