Hi,
In my application I am navigating thru multiple screens.
Normally the PF keys are placed at the bolttom of the screen and any test (error/worning/information message) is displayed just above the PF key line.
When I navigate in reverse direction (Page up using PF8 key), in few screens what I find is the PF keys are moving up and the text/field on the screen are displayed below that.
can somebody help me on reasoning this?
Attaching a screen shot of the Map for reference and better understanding of my problem.
Thanks in adavance. |

First, are you sure this is a mainframe Natural?
Second, seeing the map layout can't help us locate your problem, we need to see both the map's source + the code that activates the map.

Hi Ofer,
This is mainframe Natural only. Because customer information was there on the screen, I have hided the information and kept only one line of information at teh bottom of the screen,
In the code I saw teh PF Key activation code. There is no such code for positioning.
Thanks, |

Hi Ofer,
I have looked into the problem again. I do not really make out the reason for the problem.
Here is a description of my problem
1. In my application, I create a policy and because of some risk, the poilcy is sent to a separate dept for approval. during the creation I fill data in multiple screens (Using PF8 for page down).
2. As there are many screens to fill data and pass thru, there is a facility (Navigate = PF10), which lists all the screen names in a window and we can select one particular screen to jump.
3. The dept which approves, open the policy and the SAME screens/programs are again executed.
4. This dept uses this PF10 key to move to select and jump to the previous screen.
5. During this time, the PF Keys line is moving up by 1 line on few screens.
The attached screenshots will help to understand the problem I hope.
Thanks,
A. |

please do not post attachments, not everybody can see them
a simple text cut and paste( using the code tags ) from the 3270 will show enough info ...
furthermore it is a useless waste of resources
all the attachments will be deleted |

Next time onwards I will be cautious to send any attachments. But this time, I have no other option to convey my problem. I do not have the access to my mainframe terminal right now. Iwill have to wait for my next working day to capture the screen shots.
sorry for the inconvinience.
Thanks,
A. |

Hi,
I have found the reason.
the Map is defined LS=80 and PS=24.
There are 22 lines of text on the MAP.
At some point of time the SET CONTROL 'M23' was using the line number 23 for message and hence PFkey line was getting splitted.
Thanks,
A. |
