Hi,
I want to delete a list of members from a PDS. I wish to provide this list as a PS. Before deletion, wanted to take a backup of the members too.
Can anyone suggest how to do this?

Why not skip the unwanted members while taking backup? This should achieve the same for you right?
Look for IEBCOPY examples in the forum.

Code a small rexx to generate IEBCOPY EXCLUDE statement. |

I would take a backup of ALL members before deleting anything, just to be safe  |

Yeah you are rite. BUt, This is a kind of cleanup.. so i have to delete from a particular PDS..
For my future reference i wanna to take a backup in my PDS.
Since the list of members and the PDS may keep on change, i wish to list the members in a PS. |

| Allocate the backup PDS and then use LMMOVE for each member name present in your PS |
