I want to compress all the load data sets on a volume. it includes system datasets and personal datasets. I will do this in a maintanance window such that no dataset got locked by any one/system.
Will there be any impact if i compress system Load libs. Logic please... |

Which "system load libraries" are you wanting to compress? Are you compressing with a batch job or through TSO? Are you using DISP=OLD or DISP=SHR? Are these "system load libraries" in the link list? |

Am issuing "Z" next to the file from 3.4. Not sure weather the datasets are in link list or using by CICS region or any other started taks.
Along with the above question, could you say how compressing using a batch or TSO differs and DISP=OLD/SHR... |

If you are "not sure" whether or not your load libraries are in the link list or used by CICS or other tasks, I would suggest finding that out before proceeding further. |
