Hi ,
I have been triying the following commands
ALTER SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD -
NEWNAME(SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD.BACKUP)
ALTER SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD.NEW -
NEWNAME(SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD)
I encoutered with a problem ALTER SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD -
NEWNAME(SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD.BACKUP)
IDC3014I CATALOG ERROR
IDC3009I ** VSAM CATALOG RETURN CODE IS 98 - REASON CODE IS IGG0CLE6-7
IDC0532I **ENTRY SYSP.KC2.GOLD.RKANMOD NOT ALTERED
IDC0001I FUNCTION COMPLETED, HIGHEST CONDITION CODE WAS 8
Not able to figure out whats the exact error ? |

| Is the dataset you are trying to alter is migrated? |

The data set was not renamed, because it was currently open for
processing. |

The dataset is not migrated .
In other lpar i have tried this that worked well and the dataset is a pds one.I wonder how other datasets got renamed which are pds datasets and not this one particularly.will there be any security issue |

| In the subject ,i mentioned vsam ,but the dataset i have used are pds ones |

| The book says you cannot rename the dataset as someone else is using it. |
