Hi,

I am able to create a report for datasets that are created and not referred on DASD since 2009 using FDREPORT. This helps us to delete unnecessary datsets from DASD. Similarly any one of you know, if similar kind of report can be created on Tape datasets using FDREPORT or any other utility

Thanks,
Gopi

Ask your storage people to do it with the TMS that is installed at your site.

Am I to assume that these DASD datasets are non SMS managed.

Because if they are SMS managed, your storage mismanagment team needs a good hard kicking. This is a task that should never need to be performed on SMS managed datasets.

Even if they are non SMS there are ways and means using HSM (or whatever ILM your shop has) to manage these datasets automatically.
