The Terry Fox Run is an annual noncompetitive charity event held in numerous regions across the globe in commemoration of Canadian cancer activist Terry Fox, and his Marathon of Hope, and to raise money for cancer research. The first Chennai Terry Fox run will be held on the IIT M campus, on August 30th. This campaign is as much about cancer awareness as it is about fund raising, for cancer research. It is organised with the help of IIT Chennai and Akash Dube (a 17 year old affected by cancer). The run is for creating awareness on Cancer. At the time of registration, runners can contribute money (not mandatory) and the contribution goes to Tata Memorial Hospital. |
