Hi,

I am using 2 SORTIN files in my job. One is on tape and another is on DASD. SORTOUT is on tape again.
But I found this job is running quite long time which is unexpected.
I want to know how much time difference(% regarless record count) could be there, if those were DASD file?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

How were expectations determined? What is a "long time"? Is this cpu time or elapsed time?

What are the blksize(s) of the tape and dasd datasets?

As Gerry suggests, run both and see what happens.
