The DDIO file contains the source code listing used to provide source during debugging sessions. It can also be used by Abend Aid for source code listing when analyzing a dump.

Xpediter use DDIO file to store information about load modules and sources.

In a debug session, XPEDITER references the stored information in the DDIO file that was generated by the Language Processor (LP) during compile time. Without this information XPEDITER can not display a program at the source level although sourceless debugging is also available.

At least one DDIO file is required for source level debugging.

Usually the name of the DDIO dataset is set by the system programmer who installed Xpediter. You can create a private DDIO datest but that is most unlikely because the internal record format is set by Compuware. Suggest, you check with your system programmer who supports Xpediter.
