Hi,
The input file is having a record length of 45 VB format.
I am using the sort cord as SORT FIELDS=(5,6,CH,A)
when i am opening the outfile in Edit mode the 1 to 6 columns have some numbers.when i numoff the file is ok.But when i open again the same problem is coming.
my o/p
420012 10420012VDSLOWSMVDSLOWSMVDSLOW
351211 11351211IDTVSTRMIDTVSTRMIDTVSTRM
Please help me regarding this.

Do you mean NUM OFF ? (two words). I am not sure what you mean by OK, I do not believe the line numbers are removed. The next time the editor starts, it will recognize the valid line numbers.
Try using UNNUM instead of NUM OFF. |

Be careful with UNNUM as it will erase columns 1-8 that it thinks are SEQ#s.
Just a standard function of ISPF VB files that it assumes numerics in 1-8 are SEQ#s. Don't think you can stop it. |
