Deletion of large no of files using JCL

I want to prepare a JCL to delete all files which satisfy this criteria in 3.4 ----> HLQ.**.mydate

I should be able to change mydate parameter and able to run the JCL to delete all such files before I run my jobstream.
The expected count of such files at a time is about 3 hundred.

How do I do it?
