IS there a way to update an APF prog member through batch using either either rexx or clist or something else?
Thanks ahead of time

You're going to use REXX or a clist to update a load module? Or do you mean to update the APF authorized program list by adding a library dynamically? The latter can be done using a console command without needing REXX or clist. |

Hello and welcome to the forum,
Is this the same as you posted on the other forum? Just named a bit differently?

Is there away to update the prog members in SYS1.PARMLIB with a batch job? Basically I want to insert a line of text at the top of the member outling the change that was made then search the member for the specific dataset I want to change and then change it. I am not looking for the code or someone to create it for me but if you could point me in a direction to research I would appreciate it. We have easytrieve and rexx here.
Thank You ahead of time for your help |

Suggest you re-consider. . . . Updates to this library are most often restricted by the security system. I suggest this is not a good target dataset for some newly created/being tested automated process.
SYS1.PARMLIB is just another pds in one sense - what updates your jcl or source libraries might also work for this.
If you look in the forum, there are some topics about how to update data in a pds.
Whatever approach, suggest you copy the library. . . |
