hi,
I have a requirement to improve the performance of a job which is using VSAM files. It is a KSDS file and having buffer value of BUFND=50,BUFNI=100.
Is there any scope to achieve performance from buffering
Tnx,
Srini |

Understanding what the program does is a good place to start.
Also reading the book in the link below.
VSAM demystified can be found HERE. Please take the time to read it thoroughly. |

It is not likely that additional buffering will have much impact upon the performance of your job -- and performance could actually suffer. You may have to make coding changes to improve performance. |
