Binary runs rings around packed-decimal but it does have its limitations.
Does this question pertain to Assembler or PL/I, because HLL's (not so much PL/I, but definitely COBOL) can treat binary different as opposed to native Assembler.

Hello,
Once the arithmetic is done, what will be done with the resulting values? |

Hi ,
In the first artimetic i have to compute some value to determine a conditional execution of routine .
Second case , I have to calculate a new value and write/print in outfile file .
Thanks |

Hello,
In that case i suspect the difference will not be visable/measurable.
Remember that in order to make a binary human-friendly, it will be converted to packed and then edited. |
