Hi..

Thanks for looking into this..

I submit a job in VM, and it will be routed to a zOS system for final execution. Once it is completed the job logs go to SAR. I noticed, there is a mismatch between the Job IDs displayed in SYSOUT selection list of SAR and JES2 job log.

However I could find only one job id in SYSLOG which is same as the one in SAR's JES2 job log listings. But I am not sure how it retrieved the one that is listed in the initial screen, SYSOUT Selection List, of SAR.

Here is the screen capture..

Code:

CA-View SAR --------------- Sysout Selection List ---------
Command ===>

Sel  Sysout ID    Jobname  Jobid    Arch Date  Time  Loc
     XXXXXXX      XXXXXXX  JOB09124 07/15/2009 17:28 PTMP

But when I select it, there is a different job id it shows as below

Code:

.SARPAGE 1              DS=JESMSGLG.JES2    .        /000
.                    J E S 2  J O B  L O G  --  S Y S T E
.
.16.47.10 JOB25108 ---- WEDNESDAY, 15 JUL 2009 ----
.16.47.10 JOB25108  $HASP971 OS/EM VER 6.1 - JCL CONVERTE
.16.47.12 JOB25108  $HASP373 XXXXXXX STARTED - INIT 15
.16.47.12 JOB25108  ACF9CCCD USERID YYY IS ASSIGNED

In syslog i could find only JOB25108 id. But there is no clue where it got JOB09124
Please let me know what could be the cause. I know it is not SAR issue. But wanted to know where it gets the other job id.

If the SYSOUT was offloaded and then reloaded on JES or transmitted to another JES2 NODE it may be assigned a new JOB number if the original JOB# is already present.

But I could not find the other job id in SYSLOG?. Both job ids should be logged in SYSLOG right?

If you have the complete SYSLOG you should see where the SYSOUT arrived and was was assigned the new JOBID during RECEIVE from OFFLOAD or other NODE.
