Trying to imagine why you would want to do this is mind-boggling. The short answer is no, you cannot do that. CICS and TSO run in different address spaces and there is limited communication between them. |

Actually, ProTerm runs under TSO and can it can run CICS from there... |

I think I have the name correct, but will check when I'm back home in a few weeks. We used it at a client during Y2K work. It was invoked from an ISPF screen where you could enter the dataset that would be used to record of playback the actions performed in CICS. |

It sounds like a terminal emulator. You could use a programmable terminal emulator that runs on z/OS (any of the Java based emulators for example) and connect back to the system, log in to CICS and do whatever you need if your transaction has a terminal interface. Sounds like an awful lot of trouble though. You could probably use other connection technologies (HTTP, web services, transaction gateway,etc) depending on what is available to you. But as Robert said, this sounds like TSO may be the wrong tool for the job. |
