I'm sorting a dataset with 95 million records. Right now I'm using SYNCSORT with parameter VSCORET=24M and DYNALLOC = (SYSDA, 320), even then the runtime is going almost some 1.5hr and cpu time is almost 10 mins. Are there any parameters that I can tune so that the run time and cpu time will get reduced.
Thanks

I think you're getting pretty good CPU time for 95 million recs.
Run time is dependent on external factors that you probably cannot control, such as contention with other workloads, etc.
If you post the sort msgs from SYSOUT, perhaps someone could offer more specific suggestions. |

First of all, DYNALLOC=(SYSDA,320) does not contain a valid specification for the number of SORTWK data sets that can be allocated. The maximum value is 255.
Please forward me the complete and unedited job listing as a text attachment to alissa.margulies@syncsort.com and I would be happy to further assist you with tuning this application.
