Hi,

I have a requirement to change a VB for adding sequence number in between.

I/P file is

100 11111 1000000 1000000 11111
100 11111 1000000 1000000 11111
101 11111 1000000 1000000 11111
101 11111 1000001 1000000 11111
101 11111 1000001 1000000 11111

Key vaues are the first 12 bytes which is a Packed fields.

O/p file should be

100 11111 1000000 1 11111
100 11111 1000000 2 11111
101 11111 1000000 1 11111
101 11111 1000001 1 11111
101 11111 1000001 2 11111

inbetween the fields i want to append my seqence no.

Note: the field iam trying to change is a Packed decimal

pls. assist me how can i achieve this.

Thanks,
Raj

I achieved my requirement using the sort card icon_biggrin.gif ,

Code:

  SORT FIELDS=(5,12,CH,A)
  OUTREC FIELDS=(1,16,17:SEQNUM,4,PD,START=1,INCR=1,RESTART=(5,12),21)

Thanks,
Raj
