Guys,
I have a requirement here.
In my project, I have to use elipse to view all the progs. And it takes time to view lot of programs at a time...
So I am thinking to create a tool so that it will open the program in a sec.
Like if we type 'ilib BCOBXXXX' it will open up the prog, no need to go to elipse'
Can you put some lights how can I do it using rexx? |

CA Librarian datasets are not your usual formatted datasets, that is why you usually require ELIPSE to open them. |

You can open a Librarian master file without using Librarian as long as SUBSYS=LAM is allowed in your shop (it is not mandatory to use it). If you can use SUBSYS=LAM, you're merely adding another layer of software to the open process so you're not going to make it faster. If you cannot use SUBSYS=LAM at your shop, then you cannot create such a tool.
First step, if you insist on going down this route, is to contact your site support group and see if SUBSYS=LAM was installed as part of the Librarian release.
Second step, explain what you're going to do different that will speed up the open of the member as opposed to ELIPS processing. |
