Splitting a file into N number of files dynamically.

Hi,

We have a recuirement wherein we have to split a huge file (eg: may be greater than 2 million records) into N number of files (where N is not known) each containing 20 thousand records. Since I am not sure on the size of the bigger file, I cannot specify the DD name for each of the output files. So Is there any way that I can split the files dynamically?.

there have been many, many, many threads on this subject.
in fact many of the thread titles are exactly the same as yours,
so no excuses about the usual crap thread subjects being unhelpful.

have been a couple in the last month (last couple of weeks),
so the search should not take to long.
In fact, just open up the DFSORT/ICETOOL forum and scroll down.
