Hi Lalita,
Your question is very general but interesting.
Well, it all depends on number of things.
what process model that you have in place or being followed. The kind of the project. ... and so on.
If I give you an example of a typical Mainframe enhancement or maintainence project which follows waterfall or Linear Sequential model, then you might have to prepare number of artifacts/docuemnts
like MCR docuemnt, Higher level Analysis or specification document, Test plan or Unit Test cases, Design document ( may be higher level or detailed design ), User manuals or Maintainence notes,...
Several other documents can also be there as an attribute of your perticular project.
for example, if your project involves UML deisng ( in case of object oriented analysis and design) then some UML diagrams can also be part of the artifacts that you have to prepare.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Moderators, Please let me know if I have missed out anything. |

Hi,
I believe the answer to your question should be mentioned in the
configuration management plan that you would be using during
your work flow.
regards,
David. |

Exactly David,
Just to add. generally CM plan(Configuration management) plan is stated as a part of Project Plan documents.
CM plan depicts all the CI ( Configuration items) and its locations.. ., templates etc. |
