usage of WAIT EVENT and POST commands

Can someone help me on the usage of WAIT EVENT and POST commands.

We are trying to sync two CICS transactions (in other words we try running them in parallal.
We are trying to use the WAIT EVENT to make one transaction wait until the second transaction POST's it's end.

We are not sure about the usage of the ECADDR (ptr-value) in the WAIT EVENT.

Wht is the ptr-value? It seems it's the address of the timer-event control area. What is the TIMER-EVENT CONTROL AREA.

From where can i get that address of the timer-event control area?.

Is there any other way to run two transactions/tasks in parallal?
