Hi,

How to check the given dataset is VSAM or PS file thru jcl.

you could always do a listcat on the file and call it vsam.

if the job runs ok, it is vsam.
if the job has a non-zero return code, you know that it is not vsam (or you spelled the dsn incorrectly, or a million other reasons)

since it is so easy to look at a 3.4 panel and derive the info,

if you would state your purpose - is a follow-on step/job dependent on the info?

Its working now i used LISTCAT LVL in IDCAMS utility. checked with return code. returns vsam-0 nonvsam-4. icon_smile.gif
