Hi All,
Can you please let me know the "Impacts in change of Key field in an Segment of IMS database".
My requirement is to change the policy no. length which is a key filed in the segment. The database uses secondary indexes and logical relationships...
Currently my approach to increase the policy number length is :
1) Unload the data from DB
2) Delete the DB. Create the new one with increased policy number length.
3) Reformat the unloaded data to accomodate the increased policy number length(prefix with zeros or spaces based on data type)
4) Re-compile the PSB's that uses these DB's
5) Re-compile the programs
Please let me know incase my approach is not correct or need corrections... |

You have to edit the PSBs (KEYLEN Field) instead of recompiling. Also you must take the Logical relations into consideration. |

.
I'm sure you meant to say you need to recompile your PSB AFTER editing. |
