DELETE prevents the volume from appearing on scratch lists or being written upon even though it is expired.

YES, You are right Bill.
DELETE status prevent the volume from appearing on scratch list. so we cant use the tape volume for further purpose. if we want to use the volume we should make it to SCRATCH. Any one knows how to do this.?

Find your site's manual CA-1 Utilities and Reports Reference Guide and check section 1.25 entitled "TMSDELET - Activating/Deactivating TMC Volume Records".

If you can't be bothered to look something up in the manual, why should we do it for you?

This makes it only more important for you to read the manual before doing anything. And even though YOU don't have the documentation, if your site is licensed for the software then it is available through your site somewhere. In which case, you need to ask your site support group or your peers how to find the documentation -- again, something we cannot do for you since the location is very site specific.

You can register HERE for access to CA-1 manuals if you know your site ID number.
