Hi,

Is there anyway to access IMS(DB) the way we access DB2, using SPUFI or QMF ? If yes, which is the tool ?

I tried searching in the IMS DB/DC forum but didnt find anything. :-(

Thanks
Neelesh

Hello,

If your system uses File-Aid from Compuware, there is an IMS feature available.

Pardon my ignorance -- but which "tool" you are talking about here? Did I miss something?

On this board, I never used "subject-box" to post my replies, so did not realize that can be a place to put up your responses. . . icon_eek.gif

Hi all,

I Think ims is not query language. But you can view and modify the data by using tool like imsxpert....please correct me if any wrong.

Thanks in advance.............

Inference from this sentence seems correct -- though, IMS is not a language. IMS supports hierarchical databases, data communication, translation processing, and database backout and recovery.

I'm not aware about "imsxpert" but as suggested earlier by Dick, if your system uses File-Aid from Compuware, there is an IMS feature available. Do you have some URL to imsxpert' vendor? That would help us.
