Hi,
We are running a BMP IMS program from a JCL. We have scheduled the PSB into the test environment before running the job.
The job failed with U0428 code, and the explanation is that " the PSB is not defined during the IMS definition". The PSB is available in the TEST PSBLIB and it was scheduled properly into the correct test set.
Did any one face this problem earlier, and can any one provide a solution to this problem. |

Hello,

I have not understood, what is difference between using prod and test library. |
Suggest you speak with your manager, some senior, or your dba.
One of the most basic controls is that Production jobs are run from Production libraries. Developers should not modify Production libraries (or data for that matter) "on the fly".
Developers should run their tests using the test libraries for their code to be tested and possibly read production libraries to execute already existing production modules.
How production and test libraries as well as production/test files and databases are managed should be learned from those people i mentioned above. |

hii dick, just wanted to discuss this..in my system if am writing a new code I first have to get PSB done and once we get approvals it can be used both in test and prod. hence both prod and test psblibs have same content, just we address them differently. |

For DLI, Generate the PSB to HLQ.PSBLIB and this library(PDS) must be defined in APF( Authorized program facility) to use it
For BMP, same like DLI but define the PSB to IMS system using APPLCTN macro. Incase of BMP, IMS schedules the PSB when you submit the BMP job.
For Online(MPP), IMS schedules the PSB when the transaction is involved.
Transaction is defined to using TRANSACT macro. The PSB name and program has to be same
Thanks
