Is there a way to completely eliminate restart logic from all DB2 application programs and to handle the restart at the environment level, e.g. making changes only to DB2 parameters and batch jobs?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

As the systems have gotten so much faster, many organizations no longer implement restart-in-the-middle logic. If a job fails, it is backed out and rerun from the beginning.

This elimiates an incredible amount of restart complexity and chance for making errors when they can be least afforded.
