Yes you can write a COBOL-IMS program to do that. But that should not be adhoc unless your DB structure is changed; instead it should be a regular one.
By the way I'm not very sure what exactly you are looking for, did you code something and it did not work out the way you need? |

If you want to update some data values then you can achieve that by using adhoc job.
For this, you installation needs to have File Aid for IMS utility.
This DBEXTRACT utility will update specific data in the IMS database with the new data given in the input file.

Anuj,
I remember the original message for this thread was to update some IMS data without using a COBOL program.
Now I am not seeing that message so looks like the owner has deleted it. |
