Page up/page down logic in CICS
Even i have the similar requirement. But what is the size of TSQ? How much data it can hold? It should not happen that i have loaded all the information which is going to display on screen is stored in TSQ and i'm using TSQ for F7 and F8, but it will take time to build the first page and CICS region may go down.
Is there alternate way to use forward and Backward cursor logic? In case of cursor, How search will work say i put particular acct no on search field, It is showing me that record at first line and next 10 records also. If now i pressed F7 say my searched account initially was at 5th line now F7 should not show only first 1-4 reords but it should show first 10 records including my searched account. How to resolve this? |

TSQ size depends on whether it is main (which in turn depends upon how much memory the CICS region has access to) or auxiliary (for which you need to talk to your site CICS support group to see how big the file was defined as). CICS TSQ auxiliary storage can be recovered across region outages so you can talk to your CICS support group about ensuring that happens.
More to the point, why do you care if the data is available across a CICS outage? The transaction will be dead so you have to start all over anyway.
Questions about how to implement functionality (such as page up/page down in CICS) is typically best discussed with your peers or site support group as there are frequently standards that need to be followed. These standards are site specific and not known to us. |
