Hi,
Is it possible to send a mail or PM when anyone delete a post?
Why I am saying this is, when I posted a reply to a post, one of the moderator deleted it. I am not aware of that. So, I thought without pressing SUBMIT button, I left the site. Again I posted same answer on the same day.
This made moderator angry and warned me for this reason & then I got one PM saying that I had given wrong reply.
If I am not aware of what happened to my post, what else I can do except posting it back. (If it is a wrong reply, someone has to correct it, So that I also can know the correct answer). Sorry if I am wrong or harsh to any one. |

Anuj thank you.
I am trying to help someone, except that i didn't do anything. For that i got a warning. After seeing this warning i felt bad.
i went through the similar topic which u given, But It would be good, if there is a way to leave a message just saying post was deleted, similar to post edit message, so that the user can understand due to some reason(like wrong post/duplicate post) his post was deleted.
No need of sening mail or PM to the user. What you will say for this. |

I suspect your posts that were deleted were in the DFSORT part of the forum. . . There are 2 DFSORT developers that prefer to provide the solutions to DFSORT questions. Often, suggestions from other members are deleted from this part of the forum. It is nothing personal.
Be well,

Mahesh,
Looking back, I probably deleted your post because you did not give a complete solution (you started from the intermediate file rather than the original file) whereas Kolusu did give a complete solution. I was just cleaning up the Topic to display the best solution.
However, I did NOT give you a warning (I very rarely do that). I understand that you were trying to help, so there would have been no reason for me to give you a warning. I don't know who gave you a warning or why, but in my opinion it wasn't warranted.
As Dick said, we have two DFSORT developers who answer questions in the DFSORT Forum (myself and Kolusu) so we really don't need help from other people and I do tend to "clean up" threads to make them easier to follow for those who search in the future. |

No Frank, It was I.
Deleted the spurious post.
Later, upon finding it re-posted, I deleted it again, put a warn on him and PMed him to tell him to stop posting an incomplete solution.
Upon recieving his reply
