What is the diffrence between proc option I, L and LS.

I - Insert
L - Load
LS- Load sequential.

What is possible when L is specified instead of I in the PCB.

Regards,
Naveen

Hello,

Suggest you post the appropriate quotes from the reference manuals where you found these. Also post what from the manual is not clear.

Someone here should be able to clarify.

Hi,

PROCOPT Defines the type of access to a database or segment.
L is used for load database
LS is required to load HISAM and HIDAM databases

As Dick has suggested, please have a look in manuals on PROCOPT.

i couldnt get the above details from the manual. But it is not clarifying what is the difference of using those. Please let me know what ever you know on this rather than suggestion to read the manual or to find out what it is not there in the manual.

Your attitude will get You nowhere,
if You received the suggestion to look at the manuals, it means that the info is there
do not blame anybody else if You cannot find it

some pointers

publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/BOOKS/dfsadbg4/2.9.3.1?ACTION=MATCHES&REQUEST=procopt+LS&TYPE=FUZZY&SHELF=DFSSHCG3.bks&DT=20071026153124&CASE=&searchTopic=TOPIC&searchText=TEXT&searchIndex=INDEX&rank=RANK&ScrollTOP=FIRSTHIT#FIRSTHIT

it explains the load process,

for the other procopts You should not have any issue finding out Yourself

I echo this -- I went through this thread lately and was reluctant to answer in again . . . icon_neutral.gif
