1. talk to you system support people
2. talk to a peer
3. use C on the line (or CC CC for multiple lines) and on command line CUT
PASTE into your destination after using A (or B) on line.
4. do you have a dumb terminal or is your connection via an emulator?

Do you mean command line TELNET or a 3270 emulator that uses telnet?

Most 3270 emulation software support keyboard mapping. (e.g. IBM Personal Communications, Hummingbird Exceed, WRQ Attachmate Extra, TN3270 plus, Vista 3270, etc., etc., etc.)

I use IBM Personal Communications, so ...

Select Edit->Preferences->Keyboard->Customise Keyboard...

Select the C key on the graphical view of the keyboard, select "Edit Copy" from the functions list and assign it to the Ctrl setting for "C".

There's nothing to explain - you have successfully set the Edit Copy function in the Ctrl field. (You have [edit-copy] in the box next to Ctrl).

You should now do the same thing for function "Edit Paste" on ctrl-V then save your changes to the keyboard map when (or before) you exit.
