Hi,
I came to know that we can use XPEDITOR to debug assembler programs.we can trace out all abends like SOC4 ,SOC1 and SOC7 through Xpeditor itself .It shows the exact instruction which caused the abend. Then why is the need to go for DUMP reading in SPOOL.At the sametime,it is time consuming and difficult to read the dumps?

regards,
Akash

Some of us don't find reading dumps that difficult......
What would you do (without Xpeditor) when a prod job fails with a S0C7 and the night't production is waiting for a fix?

Xpediter might not be available at your next shop. Or might not be available at your current one under certain circumstances. Never hurts to be able to read a dump.
