Usually you can go in 3.4 and, if it is a sequential or partitioned dataset you will find its information pressing I or S near the file and to be sure that is not a VSAM or a GDG base you can also see the volume that is different than ????????(GDG base) and *VSAM* (cluster).

Hi Ramesh,
In 3.4 option you can findout PS or PDS by pressing F11 key. If it is PDS, then PO will be mentioned. Other than this, MGIndaco has mentioned everything.
