Hello,
Where are you reading this?
It may help if you post the link or some of the info found. Someone here may be able to clarify. |

can you tell me how to run ONLINE REORG and when to run

It is best to continue discussion in the topic rather than via PM. PM limits a response to only one person, is not available to the rest of the forum, and may cause extended delay if the person is not available at that time.
As i asked before, where did you read this? If you post the link or some of the actual text, it will help someone help you.
Reorgs are a "single-user", background process, so i'm confused by the question.
As it has been over 24 hours and there have been no replies, i suspect that others who might be able to offer a suggestion are looking to you for more detail. |

Reorg is listed in the DB2 Utilities Manual as an online utility. I have never seen an offline reorg refered to but I guess it would be an unload, sort of the unload, and reload with the sorted unload file. |

Yup, that is the way that every database system i've ever supported have performed reorgs (when reorgs were even done - usually not).
Of course, these were not db2 implementations - my clients could not afford to use db2 for large systems/databases because of the system and people overhead. . . Thanks to the bigger/faster cpus, the bigger/faster/cheaper dasd, and the long-in-arriving improvements in the db2 system, many larger projects are now possible.
What db2 considers "online" is not what most of us consider online. Most of us consider something running at a terminal as online. Here is what db2 says:

DB2 online utilities run as standard batch jobs or stored procedures, and they require DB2 to be running. They do not run under control of the terminal monitor program (TMP); they have their own attachment mechanisms. They invoke DB2 control facility services directly. |
From the DB2 V8 Utilities manual. |
