Hi,
In my easytrieve pgm.
I have 1 VB blk file of length 10620.In this file starting from posn 315 spanning 10301 i have group of data.
I have declared the working storage variable with length 10301.
HMX W 10301 A.
And I am moving group data to the working storage variable.
and finally trying to copy same data into output file.
After copying some data into output file I am getting SOC 4 .
*******A006 PROGRAM INTERRUPT - CODE 4 (PROTECTION EXCP)
Can anybody suggest me the solution for this ?
Thanks |

Suggest, yes.....
Usually this could be caused by reading/writing file data while the file is closed/not opened successfully.
Did you get a manual? |

Hello,
This might also occur if the data in the file does not match the file definition. Does the file contain a variable length repeating group?
As suggested, you need the documentation (available for free from CA Support if your organization is icensed to use the product).
For anyone here to be able to help you need to post the relevant Easytrieve code (file layout and code referencing the file), the idcams vsam file definition, and the jcl from the problem run. |
