Can anyone please tell me how many BYTES a DUMP message '(100,dump)' contains? Is it 100 bytes? |

Hello,
The only time i've seen something like this is to specify a user abend with a dump but that is in code not jcl.
Maybe it will be more familiar to someone else |

Why would cobol come to mind? The code where i used something like this was assembler to force a user abend (assembler has an ABEND macro).
The initial question mentions bytes in a dump. Where did this concept originate? Where did the term "dump message" originate? |

I have no idea but this was the question how many bytes will be in (100,DUMP). I got this question in one of my JCL test. |

So, (100,DUMP) = 100,000 bytes
I wrote 100 bytes in my test which was wrong
ok...
