Posted: Fri Mar 27, 2009 10:37 pm Post subject: Audit error in changeman:Staging copy component deleted

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

I am facing an error while Auditing a package in changeman. The error is SYNCH17 Staging copy component deleted.

The error is shown only for cobol copybooks. The package which contains these copybooks are already frozen.

In another package we have a few programs and one of the program in this package i changed and this program uses the copybooks from the frozen package. But the changes are not relevant to the copybook. After changing the program staging was successfull but while auditing the package it is giving error SYNCH17 Staging copy component deleted.
But the interesting thing is if i stage all the components in the failure package again and try to audit the package it is successful.

Kindly anybody can identify what could be the problem and a possible solution

Thanks and regards
Renjith

Hi,

If the copybook in question is "brand-new" and available only in the other package; stage the copybook in this package also unless it's a participating to that other pacakge.

By the way, what does this

Hi i mean by the statement
Quote:

if i stage all the components again audit is passed

Let me explain with example

I have a package XXX having a copy book A and the package XXX is frozen. In another package YYY have programs PGM1, PGM2, PGM3 etc etc which uses the copy book A. The package YYY is also in frozen status. Now i want to change the program PGM1, so i reverted the package and made the change in the program and staged PGM1 successfully. Now when i tried audit the package error SYNCH17 is shown. But if i stage all the components in the package YYYY (PGM1,PGM2,PGM3 etc etc) and try to audit then the audit is successful.

Can you tell me why this is happening?

Thanks and regards
Renjith

Is copybook is present in YYY?

Hi,

Are the two packages mentioned above are "participating"?
