is there any way to know what access does a user id have without counsulting to DBA's.

Hello,

There is typically no reason for developers to know what access a user-id has been granted. . .

If you believe you have a legitimate reason to know, ask your manager to get the info from either the dba or the security people.

I used to query SYSIBM.SYSTABAUTH a lot to determine who could do what when doing impact analysis. I think most shops allow read authority to that table.
