Hi,

If data sets are on shared DASD/volumes, you can see them on both the systems.

If DEVPLEX and VMIPLEX are different LPARs and they don't have shared DASDs, you can't probabaly check the data sets on VMIPLEX from DEVPLEX directly I guess...

One hint... you can submit a JCL on VMIPLEX
1. which will ROUTE to DEVPLEX and do whatever you want and
2. ROUTE back to VMIPLEX with your information.

general concern...

when listing datasets using the catalog structures

the LPAR SYSPLEX categorization is misleading

using LISTCAT the dataset listed depend only on the catalog structure/aliases

using DCOLLECT the datasets listed will depend only on the dasd configuration

if a catalog and the dasds are shared You can list them from both lpar

so the distinction if a dataset belongs to production or development is a moot point
it' s rather an issue abut the naming standards and access permissions
