Hi hiravibk

Give full details:

Length of the input PS file
Length of the output PS file
how many records the input file contains
Out of those records how many you need to copy into output PS
what is the criteria to copy the records?

then you will get a quick reply from somebody!

Ravi,

Please show an example of the records in each input file (relevant fields only) and what you expect for output. Explain the "rules" for getting from input to output. Give the starting position, length and format of each relevant field. Give the RECFM and LRECL of the input files.

Hi all,

I could do this using a merge...
I had two files which has a date field starting from col: 79..
i did a merge using this date field in descending order...and it was fine
thank you all for looking into this and giving valuable suggestions...

Thanks
Ravi
