1. I need to find out a disk which is almost full.
2. Then to write a file to that disk.

I am trying to do this for recreating SB37-04.

Regards,
Harsh.

Unless you are authorised to use the SMS guaranteed space storage class(es) you can not do this for an SMS managed dataset. You will need to talk to your storage people to either allow you temporary access, or to amend and submit the jobs on your behalf.

If the volume is not SMS managed, then you will need access to the NONSMS defined storage class(es). See note above for authorisation / assitance.

Instead of a full disk, why not just write a 30 track file with a (1,1) track allocation to a single volume?
The data set already had 16 extents, but required more space.
